Emile Flamand

October 15, 1942 — July 20, 2024

Mr. Emile Joseph Flamand, age 81, of Rocky Face, Georgia, and formerly of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, with his loving daughters by his side.

Emile was born on Thursday, October 15th, 1942, in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, to the late Mr. Arthur J. Flamand and Mrs. Florette Rochefort Flamand.

After graduating from North Brookfield High School, Mr. Flamand proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and then later moved to Florida in 1983.  He spent the majority of his working career working in sales for the Gorman Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2003.

Emile was affectionately known by his friends and family to have an ‘itchy hand,’ as they would describe it, in that he loved taking chances with playing the lottery.  He also loved playing cards and card games of all sorts.  He was also an avid golfer and loved playing and teeing off with his friends.  He was a huge fan of both the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, and loved watching both teams play while enjoying an ice-cold beer, a hot dog, and some coffee ice cream.

In addition to all of his other hobbies and interests, Emile was a dedicated, life-long member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.  His membership and dedicated service were honored in 2015, when he was awarded the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the ultimate and highest degree that can be bestowed upon a member of the Moose Lodge.  This honor is bestowed upon those who have given exceptional service to the fraternity over the lifetime of their membership.

Emile always cherished the time he was able to spend with his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all those who were privileged to have known him.

In addition to his parents, Emile is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Flamand, to whom he was married for twenty-five years until her passing in 1995; his wife, Nancy Webb Flamand, to whom he was married for fifteen years until her passing in 2015; his brother, Art J. Flamand; and his son, Scott R. Moulton.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kellie Barber and her husband Kevin, of Rocky Face, Georgia, and Carol Sinkis and her husband Mark, of North Oxford, Massachusetts; his three grandchildren, Matthew, Mandy, and Meagan, as well as his nephew and his six great grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Emile’s life will be held in the near future at Memorial Gardens in Venice, Florida, with a celebration of life to follow.

Emile’s family would like to extend their special thanks and gratitude to the individuals with Regency Park Health and Rehabilitation Center, and also to those individuals with Hamilton Hospice, for their exceptional care and compassion throughout this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Emile's honor to Moose Charities, Inc. (155 S International Dr, Mooseheart, IL 60539; (630) 966-2200).
