Estil Alvin Shelton

Estil Alvin Shelton, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 30th, 2023, surrounded by his family at Hamilton Medical Center. He had been a member of Resaca Church of God prior to his illness. He was the son of the late Tom and Vine Lou Maddron Shelton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Mantooth; sons, Alvin Shelton and Robert Brown; granddaughter, Megan Melissa Swinney; and his grandsons, Thomas Brandon Shelton and Jeremy Shelton.

Estil is survived by his sons and daughter in laws, Jerry and Diane Shelton of Dawnville; Jessie Shelton and Michelle Ridley of Calhoun; and his daughters and son in laws, Lisa Stone and Richard Stone of Dawnville and Shona Sanders and Billy Hobbs of Resaca. He is also survived by his brother, Harbin Shelton of Ten Mile, TN. and sisters, Joann Parker and Julie Bradford, both of Dalton. Estil also leaves behind his grandchildren: Kayla Franks and Jacob Sanders of Resaca, Trevor and Brooklyn Stone of Dawnville, Shane Shelton of Calhoun, Mitzi and Bobby Brown of Dalton, Sabrina and Kimberly Odell from Chatsworth. Estil has twenty-one (21) great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 5:00-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Calhoun officiating with a special message from his daughters, Lisa Stone and Shona Sanders. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery with his grandsons and special friends serving as his pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted at Love Funeral Home or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (GA Chapter, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, Ga. 30721).
