Evelyn Poe

Heaven is sweeter today as Ms. Evelyn Poe entered the gates with Jesus to greet the love of her life and all her family and friends who have gone before her. Evelyn’s smile was contagious and lit up any room. Evelyn loved attending church at Quinton Memorial. She had an amazing green thumb and kept her windowsill full of flowers and plants and was always willing to share a cutting.

Evelyn was the daughter of the late Fred and Lela Deals and she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Poe and her sister Doreen Carringer.

She is survived by her sisters, Lugene McClure, Sybil Morrow and Joyce Plumley; sisters-in-law, Ilene Teasley, Cutene Millsaps and Hazel Poe; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews who she adored and thought of as her children and grandchildren.

A special thanks goes out to Melissa Clifton, Greg West and the team of caring friends at Quinton Memorial for going above and beyond their responsibilities. She made many special friends who grew to love her and treat her as their own.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Johnny Edgeman, Terry Bandy, Scott Pierce, Junior Poe, H.R. Poe, Zack Bandy, Chase Bandy and Greg West serving as a honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
