Frances Nell Knowles

Frances Nell Knowles entered into God’s hands on September 27, 2020 at the age of 84. Her husband and her four children were by her side when she entered heaven. Frances was born in McRae, GA, to the late Will and Estelle Mathews on September 3, 1936 and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Archie, Herman, Nora, and Julia Mae.

Frances was married to the love of her life, Carl Lee Knowles, for 62 years.  She is survived by him and by her four children: Tony, Brenda, Dinah, and Derrick (Tiffany); her grandchildren: Justin (Lindy), Brinkley (Dane), Ava, Eloa (Eduardo), Brady, Chase, Titus, Journey and Liberty; her great-grandchildren: Allie, Ella, and Archie; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Frances played basketball in school. Her happy place was the beach - sitting and listening to the crash of the waves. She enjoyed shopping for hours and hours, seeing shows, traveling, and spending time with her family. From a very young age, Frances spent her time caring for and creating memorable life experiences for the elderly. Frances served faithfully as a pastor’s wife with her recent years spent as a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church. She lived her faith with grace and humility.

Visitation will be held at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, GA, on Tuesday, September 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Salem Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. Frances will be committed and laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family kindly requests masks be worn.
