Mrs. Frances Thomas Purvis, 93, of Dalton passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Jewel Ford Thomas and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Purvis in 2004.
Frances is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Purvis and Kim and Steve Crane of Dalton; granddaughters, Dana Crane and Anna Crane both of Dalton; brother and sisters-in-law, Charles and Betty “Mac” Thomas of Dalton, Dean Hales of Jackson, MS. And Faye Purvis of Muscle Shoals, AL; nieces and nephews, Becky Jolly of Dalton, Donette Holland of Pascagoula, MS., Sandra Glasmire of Pelahatchie, MS., Cindy Pilgram of Pearl, MS., Barbara Wastrack of Muscle Shoals, AL., Chuck Thomas of Winston-Salem, NC., Jimmie Purvis of Little Rock, AR., Wesley Purvis of Baxley, GA., Randy Hales of Clinton, MS., and Billy Dial of Pascagoula, MS.
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Thursday, June 7 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor from 3 until 5.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, designated to the building fund (P.O. Box 3946 Dalton, Ga 30719).
