‘…All your children are taught by the Lord, and great is thy peace…’ – Isaiah 54:13
Frank Guy ‘Buddy’ Henley III, age 62, of Dalton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Buddy touched numerous lives through his generous spirit of grace and generosity. He was always one to regularly call and check on his friends, and likewise, he was known and trusted by his friends and loved ones as someone whom they could always call on whenever they needed anything.
Buddy’s love for people was rooted in his faith in and his love for the Lord. His relationship with the Lord was the focal point of his life, and everything else was centered around his love for Him. He was the true embodiment of the words of Jesus in Matthew 22: “…‘love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’…” Buddy truly loved those in his life through the love that he had for his Lord and Savior.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Guy Henley Jr. and Betty Ross Chapman Henley.
He is survived by his wife, Melisa Henley; daughters, Lauren Brock (Jarrod) and Chapman Christensen (Brandon); grandchildren, Boston and Vann Brock and Henley and Harbor Christensen; sisters, Cathy Hayes (Gregg), Tricia Boring, and Holly Causby (Gregg); cousins, Tad Parnell, Hallie Flournoy, Katherine Young, Stacy Newland, and Susanne Chapman; nieces, Tessa Reams, Lele Hayes, Rachel Boring, Carly Causby, and Lindsay Roark; nephews, Henley Hayes, Starr Causby, Thomas Causby, and Todd Gregory.
Also left to cherish Buddy’s memory are numerous friends – too many to begin to list – who not only loved Buddy as part of their own family, but whom Buddy also loved and considered to be members of his extended family, as well.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Buddy’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26, at 1:00 P.M. at Rock Bridge Community Church, Stage 123. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Tent Inc., Global Servants House of Grace, or to Dalton’s Greater Works.
