Geneva Morris Pinson

Geneva Morris Pinson, 94, of Cartersville, GA, formerly of Dalton, GA, died on January 6, 2021, at Maple Ridge Nursing Home in Cartersville, GA.

Mrs. Pinson was born on October 2, 1926 in Cullman, Al, to the late Edgar O. Morris and Aytcha Blackwood Morris. She attended Model High School and Rome Business School in Rome, GA.

She married Hollis W. Pinson on February 27, 1944, and they served local Baptist churches together as Pastor and Church Secretary. They also faithfully served together at the North Georgia/Murray County Baptist Association. After Hollis’ sudden death in 1986, she continued to serve as the Secretary of the Association until 1996.

She enjoyed crafts, collecting dolls, church activities at Dug Gap Baptist Church and visits from her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Lamar and Theresa Pinson of Cartersville and Dana and Carol Pinson of Dalton. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Melissa Pinson Snipes, Rachel Pinson, and Rylie Pinson, and one great-grandson, Ben Snipes. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Hollis W. Pinson and her brother, William O. Morris and sister, Juanita Davis.

A private family service will be held with her interment at Oaknoll Cemetery in Rome, GA.
