George Brooks Thomas

George Brooks Thomas, 75, of Dalton passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

He was the son of the late Howard and Mamie Ruth Thomas and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Susan Wink Thomas, nephew, Clay Moore and brother-in-law, Pat Fountain.

George was a graduate of Dalton High School. He later graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business and was an avid Georgia fan. George was a wine connoisseur and enjoyed cooking. He owned several local businesses throughout his life and was involved with the Dalton Bulldog Club and Elks Lodge. George was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Brooks Thomas; sisters, Dediere Fountain and Pam Moore (Ron); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Miriam Wink; nephews, Travis Moore (Kristy), Colter Fountain, Tommy Fountain (Amanda), Eric Wink and Matt Wink (Katie); nieces, Sidney Moore and Shannon Wink; great nieces and great nephews.

The family is appreciative of the care from the staff and his many friends at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation, where George had been a resident for 16 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 PM. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
