Harold Starr Johnston

Harold Starr Johnston, 82, of Crandall, GA, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Johnston; brother, Tom Johnston; and, nephew, Matt Johnston. He is survived by his son, Thomas Johnston (Tina), and daughter, Cheryl Aaron (David); grandchildren, Catherine Ledford, Nicole Lawrence (Tim), Matthew Johnston, and Cheyenne Kitzmiller (Rob); great-grandchildren, Julian and Sadie Kitzmiller; sister, Bette Sue Quarles; nieces and nephews, Amanda Mashburn Tidwell (Jon), Robin Johnston Eggers (Randy), Jodi Allen, Mark Pierce, and Julie Johnston Tepp (Tracy); and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnston was employed by both Shaw Industries and Collins and Aikman before moving to work full-time as a cattle farmer. He had a huge heart of compassion and love for his community. He was indeed a pillar in that community helping to take care of any need that came his way, serving his friends and neighbors in any way that he could.

Funeral services for Harold Johnston will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.
