Henry Leroy Vigil

Henry Leroy Vigil, known as “Chief” to many (retired Navy), died at home with family on July 27, 2024. He was the most kindhearted man that in his own words, “was NOT stubborn”.

He adored his wife and children and loved his family. He was passionate about politics and enjoyed fun times, playing ball with his grandchildren, poker, relaxing while fishing, and journaling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jenny Vigil; children, Christopher and Linda Vigil; siblings, June Vigil, Roberta Vigil, Pete Vigil, and Shirley Vigil; aunt, Dolly Holland.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Vigil; children, Robert Vigil (Sandy) and Amy Gann (Clayton); grandchildren, Stephen Dean, Audrey Wilbur, Billy Napier, Amber Ervin, Devan Vigil, Jasmine Gilreath, C.J. Gann; great-grandchildren, Ivan Dean, Trinity Dean, Montana Dean, Jeremiah Leroy Ervin, and Abby Davis; siblings, Angie Apodaca (Manuel), Ramona Moreno, Roger Vigil, Dee Young (Dave), Tony Vigil, Juanita Vigil, Anita Casynn (John), and Lee Bocock (Glen); special friends, Jessica Crumley and Shanna Jones.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Love Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors by The United States Navy.
