Herbert Holmes

Mr. Herbert Holmes, 89, of Resaca passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Brady and Susie Childers Holmes and was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Louise Edmond Holmes in 2017, daughter, Wanda Holmes Grant, and brothers and sisters.

Herbert was retired from Shaw Industries where he was an electrician. He loved farming and raising cattle.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Dawn Patterson and La Sonja and Richard Holcomb all of Resaca; brother, Lloyd Holmes; grandchildren, Chad Mullinax, Cameron Patterson, Lindsey Patterson, Paxton Holcomb, and Zoe Holcomb; great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Holcomb officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
