Herbert M. Turner

Herbert M. Turner, 86, of Dalton passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

He was the son of the late Ottis Jewell Turner and Ora Townson Turner. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gail Lawson Turner; children and their spouses, Kay Turner Watkins (James) and Robert Kevin Turner (Pam); grandchildren, Kaitlin Turner Mason (Andrew) and Lauren Marigail Watkins; great-granddaughter, Cecily Turner Mason; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Turner retired as a Captain from the Georgia State Patrol after 31 years. He then served for 8 years as the Safety and Security Director for Dalton Public Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dalton.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Dalton. Active and former Georgia State Patrol Troopers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 3 PM in the Atrium of the Church.
