Ignacio Marcelo Hinojosa, Sr. Departed this life and opened his eyes to heaven on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelo Hinojosa and Tomasa de Jesús Garcia and great granddaughter, Sophie Lopez.
He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart of 52 years, Elisa Luna Hinojosa; his daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita (Saul) Medina and Jennifer (Juan) Lopez; Sons and daughters-in Law, Ivan (Tammy) Hinojosa and Ignacio Marcelo Hinojosa, Jr. (Leticia) all of Dalton, Ga. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and in-laws who he loved dearly.
Ignacio was born in Reynosa, Taumalipas, Mexico on July 31,1951. He came to the Dalton Community in 1986 where he worked in the flooring industry for over 30 years. His most important work was that of speaking to others of the love of God and of the gift of Salvation. He worked tirelessly for God’s Kingdom and served in many missions in Mexico helping the less fortunate and spreading the gospel.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 30 th for visitation from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Love Funeral Home and on Friday, October 1 st from 2:00pm until 3:30pm in the Atrium of First Baptist Church of Dalton.
A celebration of life will follow at 3:30pm in the First Baptist Sanctuary with Rev. Praxedis Gomez, Rev. Pascual Velásquez and Rev. Eunice Ortega Officiating.
Interment will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
