Jack H. Cole

Mr. Jack Herman Cole, 87 of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Tuesday June 27, 2023, at the local hospital. Mr. Cole was born on July 4, 1935, near Prater's Mill in Varnell, GA. He was the son of Jim Prater Cole and Sadie Caylor Cole. He had one brother, William "Bill" Henry Cole. His father-in-law was F.L. "Buck" Ingle and mother-in-law was Trenna Estelle Ingle. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Catherine Ingle Cole, two daughters, Tammy Cole and Katrina "Nina" Cole, a sister-in-law Myra Pangle Cole, and a niece Kathy Cole Valdivieso.

Jack was an avid golfer and among his other hobbies were waterskiing, bowling, baseball, banjo, fishing, cooking, and playing canasta with a special group of life-long friends. He enjoyed his work and cheerfully helped anyone who came to the office in need. Over the years he was the President of Cook and Ingle Concrete Products, Cook and Ingle Plastics, and Cook and Ingle Equipment Company. He served in the Air National Guard and served as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives for 10 years.

Jack was a kind man who was always approachable. He loved his family. He had a quick sense of humor that would often bring a smile. He lived out the Golden Rule to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. In his latter years, chronic illness would limit his ability to be active in the community, but he would always light up whenever his friends came to visit. He had a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ knowing it is by grace we are saved through faith. He was dearly loved by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
