Mr. Jack Bradley Dixon, 86, of Dalton passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Melvin and Tessie Borders Dixon and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Bob, Melvin Jr. and granddaughter, Sky Dixon Ragan.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gloria Chacon Dixon of Dalton; daughter, Mel Dixon Ragan of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Beverly Dixon of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Dylan (Laura) Ragan of Fairfax, VA, Andres (Katie) Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Savannah Dixon and Sierra Dixon all of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Natalie Ragan and Jackson Dixon; brother and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Wilma Dixon of Dalton, Linda Dixon and Carla Dixon both of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
He and Gloria met in Denver, CO and married on May 13, 1955 in Idaho Springs. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force, serving as a paratrooper with the 82 nd Airborne Division. He worked in the jewelry and pawn business in downtown Dalton for almost 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with benevolence at Fellowship Bible Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 on Friday at Fellowship Bible Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 on Thursday at Love Funeral Home and then again from 1 to 2 on Friday at the church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, GA Chapter, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, Ga. 30721.
