James W. Boyd

Mr. James W. Boyd, 87, of Dalton passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018.

He was the son of the late Fred and Lillie Boyd and was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon E. Boyd, Sr.

James worked for Cabin Craft, which became West Point Pepperell, then Shaw Industries for 45 plus years.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Henrietta Boyd of Rocky Face; sister, Betty Ellis McIntosh of Dalton; nephews, Earl Boyd of Dalton, Bryan (Jen) Boyd of Atlanta, and Paul (Lexie) Boyd of Atlanta; nieces, Susan (Rick) Kearney of NC, Sharon (Brad) Williams of SC, and Laura (Jeremy) Madison of AL. The family expresses appreciation for the care and compassion shown by friend and caregiver Tiny, the nurses and caregivers at Dalton Place, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice and the doctors and nurses at Hamilton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Wednesday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 1 until 2.
