James William Powell

Mr. James William Powell, 86, of Dalton went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 15 , 2019.

He was the son of the late George W. And Jimmie Lou Caylor Powell and was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Boyd Powell; brothers, Hollis, Dasher and George W. Powell Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Chapman and Mary Lou Raymond; great grandson, Jacobi Davis.

James was a member of Crown View Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Jan and Rick Gordon of Dalton, Kent and Kathy Powell of Ringgold and Clay and Angie Powell of Chatsworth; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Sunday at 3:00 in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. David Friend officiating.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 1 until 3 at the funeral home.
