James Terry Whitt

James Terry Whitt, 77, of Ooltewah, TN (formerly of Dalton) passed away at his home on Monday, June 28, 2021. Mr. Whitt was preceded in death by his parents, James Stacy and Vassar Elise Whitt; his paternal grandparents, James Vernon and Zada Mae Whitt; his maternal grandparents, Felon Marcus and Nina Miller Roberts; and his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Mary Lee Whitt.

Mr. Whitt is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dianne Dean Whitt; his children, Stacy (Stephanie) Whitt and Jamie (David) Williams; his granddaughter, Brooke (Josh) Killian; great-grandchild, Kylo Killian; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny (Darla) Whitt and David (Frieda) Whitt. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Whitt proudly served his country in the United States Navy serving tours in Vietnam and Thailand. He was a member of the Navy Seabee Team. He was also employed by T.V.A. and was a long time Construction Superintendent for Long Foundation Drilling.

Funeral services for Mr. Whitt will be on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Doug Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 2, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow next Tuesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
