Janet Pierson Halpin

Janet Pierson Halpin, 80, of Dalton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Myrtle Pierson.

Mrs. Halpin is survived by her husband of 59 years, James D. Halpin; her children, John Halpin (Pavanne), Julie Eckleberry (Kevin), Jill Shawler (Jamie); five (5) grandchildren; three (3) great-grandchildren; and sister, Joann Nicholson. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Halpin was employed by Whitfield County Schools as Secretary of Cohutta Elementary School for twenty-three years. She was a member of First Christian Church. She loved baking and decorating cakes for her family and many friends. She was the owner of Creative Confections by Janet.

A memorial service for Janet Halpin will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Tim McIntosh, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (GA Chapter, 922 E. Morris St., Dalton, GA 30721).
