Jerry Gordon Arnold, passed away on February 6, 2025.
A native Daltonian, Jerry was born on November 26, 1937, to the late Gordon and Delsie Mae Arnold. He met and later married his beloved wife, Elizabeth in 1961. Jerry adored his wife, children and later grandchildren. Spending time with his family, playing tennis and traveling with Elizabeth were his favorite things to do. A gifted athlete in his youth, Jerry made his mark as a star football player at Dalton High School, and later, the University of Chattanooga. He was a co-captain on the famous 1958 Chattanooga football team to beat the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His athletic prowess extended beyond football; later in life, he celebrated one of his proudest accomplishments when his tennis team won the USTA South Carolina State Championship.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Arnold; his children, Ava Wyatt (Tony), Lisa Burton, and Erik Arnold (Audra); his cherished grandchildren, Andrew Wyatt, James Wyatt, David Erik Burton, Lisa Cassidy Joy Burton, Christopher Arnold, and Stella Arnold; and his sister, Joann Middleton.
