Jerry McDowell, 77, of Dalton passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
He was the son of the late Ernest and Esta Lee McDowell and was also preceded in death by Judy McDowell.
Jerry was very active in Georgia Legal Services, loved old cars and enjoyed helping stray animals.
He is survived by his daughter, April McDowell of Athens and dog, Woody.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Ash McEuen and Rev. Hoyt Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10 until 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of NWGA, P.O. Box 3946, Dalton, GA 30719.
