Jessie Phillips

Ms. Jessie W. Phillips, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

She was born on Wednesday, July 27, 1941, in Spindale, Rutherford County, North Carolina.

Before moving to Dalton in 1987, Jessie grew up in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.  She worked for 17 years of her life as a custodian at Jefferson Elementary School in Shelby, North Carolina.  She was a faithful member of the Baptist tradition, and was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Grover, North Carolina.  After moving to Dalton, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation.  She was dedicated to serving the patients and residents who were entrusted to her care.

Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, as well as by her three older sisters.

She is survived by her son, Claude Phillips, as well as her two grandsons, Samuel Phillips and Brandon Phillips.  She is also survived by numerous close cousins.

Funeral services for Ms. Jessie Phillips will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Reverend Phillip Cannon officiating.  Jessie will be laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery following the service.

Her family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
