Joan Patricia (Pat) Hannah went to be with the Lord February 20, 2025. She is survived by her son and Daughter-In-Law, Mark and Marta Hannah, granddaughters Ana Patricia and Daniela Ricks Hannah, sisters Jan Corbin and Ada Ricks and best friend Janell Caylor, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hannah, parents James Emmitt and Lou Swafford Ricks.
Her parents moved to Chicago from East Tennessee during the depression, where she was born December 8, 1937. At the end of WWII the family moved from the big city back to a small farm in Tennessee, allowing her to state “When God made me a yankee… He was only kidding!” After the family moved to Dalton in the late 1940’s, she met her husband Bill. They were married in August of 1953 and shared 68 years together. She was the Office Manager at the Arnold Caylor accounting firm for decades. With her husband she traveled the world, including the Arctic Circle, western rivers, the jungles of Costa Rica and the beaches of Brazil. She wrote poetry and volunteered for charitable work. She is a Christian. In lieu of flowers, donations to Big Brothers / Big Sisters (209 West Morris St. Dalton GA 30720) are welcome.
Visitation will be February 24, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 with a 2:00 memorial service following at Love Funeral Home, Dalton GA.
