Joan Moore Stevens

Joan Moore Stevens, age 90, passed away December 27 ^th at Regency Park in Dalton, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Stevens; mother, Jessie Lou Parks Powell; father, Charles Moore; and special step-father, Bob Powell.  She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Postell (Vince); brother-in-law, Raymond “Bo” Bledsoe; niece, Karen Bledsoe, along with many cousins and one very special cousin, Ms. Mae Johnson.

Joan is best described as someone who lived life as she chose and was living alone at the age of 90 until shortly before her death.  One of the joys of her life was meeting other people, particularly her special friends at the Cracker Barrel in Calhoun.  Joan was an amazing cook and provided full meals, cakes, candy, and cookies for many during her younger years.  She was also devoted to her family:  Lydia, her daughter, and Vince, her son-in-law, and loved nothing more than eating out as much as possible.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, Georgia.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 30 ^th , from 2:00-4:00, and the funeral will begin at 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
