Mr. John Bradley Barker, age 88, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, November 25, 2024.
He was born in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1936 to John William and Agnes Marie Barker.
John was an Air Force veteran and received his degree from Fresno State College. He served as a Fresno City Police Officer, and later became and retired as a Federal Customs Enforcement Agent. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and world traveler. In his later years, he found faith in Jesus, and the final years of his life were marked by a deep love for the Father in which he sought to spread the joy that he had found through his faith.
John was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Lorraine Barker; his parents, John William and Agnes Marie Barker; and his brother, Marvin Schwinn.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Eileen Barker; his children, Leslie Anne Taylor (Johnny), John Bradley Barker, Jr., and Jeffrey Alan Barker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah Beth Jaume (Charles), Joshua John Myers (Kennedy), Jacob Richard David Myers (Maggie), and Zachary Caleb Myers; his great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Donald Jaume, Luke Joseph Jaume, Benjamin John Myers, and Beau Chapman Myers.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate John's life on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. Friends and loved ones are also invited to visit and fellowship with John's family immediately following the service.
