Joseph R. Evans

Joseph R. Evans, age 84, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at his home.

Joe graduated from Dalton High School, class of 1956 and was a graduate of Southern Technical Institute with a degree in both Civil Engineering and Building Construction Technology. He was a registered land surveyor and owner of Joseph R. Evans and Associates, Land Surveyors. He was elected Whitfield County Surveyor and served more than twenty years. He was a retired Colonel, Georgia Army National Guard and was a Mason and member of the American Legion.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Roy L. Evans and Gussie Cavender Evans, his brother, W.L. Evans and sister, Nancy Trimboli.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 ½ years, Marguerite A. Evans; daughter, Kim Evans Malone; grandson, Patton Hunt (Alex); great-grandchildren, Anderson and Ramsey Hunt; sister, Gussie Gray; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Hamilton Hospice staff for their compassion and care and thank Joe’s caregivers Jonah Berry, Becky Berry and Kay Wilson.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 until 6 PM. A private family service and burial will be held.
