Joyce Wallace

**Due to the prediction of inclement weather conditions, service times for Mrs. Joyce Troglen Wallace have been RESCHEDULED for Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends for visitation following the service.**

Joyce Troglen Wallace, 89, of Dalton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on December 20, 2024.

She was born on Tuesday, January 15, 1935, to the late Mr. Burl and Mrs. Pearl Troglen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend of 64 years, Jerry Duane Wallace; and her brother Bill Troglen.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lea Anne Wallace of Savannah; grandchildren, Anne Keese Wallace of Dallas TX and Wright Wallace of Charleston SC; along with four nieces and two nephews whom she loved dearly.

Joyce was born in Huntsville, AL, raised in the Fort Oglethorpe area of Chattanooga and graduated from Lakeview High School.  She excelled in sports and was active in her school and community.  She earned four letters in basketball, including two years as team captain.  Shortly after marriage, Joyce moved to Dalton where she raised her family and lived the remainder of her life.

Joyce lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents.  She was a great cook, an avid tennis player, she loved her bridge groups, her large network of friends and her church family. She dedicated over 50 years as a loyal member of Central Church of Christ, where she was an active participant in community outreach assisting those in need of food and clothing.  She had a loving, caregiving personality and never met a stranger. Her greatest passion was that of devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there when needed the most.  She will be dearly missed.

The family would also like to acknowledge the many hands and excellent care that Joyce received from the staff at Dalton Square community and by Heartlite Hospice.

A Celebration of Life for Joyce will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.  Joyce’s family will receive friends for visitation immediately following the service.
