Juanita 'Janie' Ensley

Juanita ‘Janie’ Ensley, born November 29, 1958, age 65, passed away to her eternal home in glory on November 11, 2024.

Janie, as most people called her, was full of so much love and life.  She had such an infectious spirit and smile that radiated through her wherever she went.  She never met a stranger.  She was all about family and her church.  She was a devoted member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia.  You rarely saw her without her daughter and best friend, Melissa, and her two precious grandchildren, Aubri and Ryder.  Spreading God’s message to everyone she came across was her ultimate joy in life.  She enjoyed working with the children at her church, loving on every child she got the joy to spend some time with.  She called every child that she met her babies.  She was a huge part of the Operation Christmas Child ministry and enjoyed the time and fellowship she got to spend with her church family packing shoeboxes each year.  Her other passion in life was sewing.  She opened up her own business, Heavenly Stitches in Dalton, Georgia, and worked for many years until she decided to close her shop, but she still continued to work from home.  You would rarely find her not doing something with her sewing machines.  She loved to create, design and share her talents with everyone that she knew.  She truly had a gift that will be greatly missed.

Janie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronnie Lee Ensley, her parents, Jesus Delgado and Irene Delgado, and her only brother, Jessie Delgado.  She leaves behind one child, her only daughter, Melissa Ann Ensley, and her two grandchildren, Aubri Ensley and Ryder Lee Ensley.  She also leaves behind an honorary daughter, Jennifer Wright, whom she loved very much, as well as her bonus grandchildren, Jarrod, Abby, and Kaylee Wright.  She is survived also by her four sisters, Alice Salazar (Roy), Mary Delgado, Lupe Munoz (David), and Marge Hall (Troy).  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and a multitude of special friends.  Visitation for Janie will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. till 4:00 P.M. at Love Funeral Home, with Janie’s funeral service to follow at 4:30 P.M. at Welcome Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Bruce Beach officiating.  Janie will be laid to rest next to her husband immediately after the service at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Preacher Mitchell McDougle officiating her burial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks for donations to Operation Christmas Child as well as to Soul Purpose Entertainment, which are both active ministries of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, and where donations can be made directly.
