Judy Stocks

Judith Ann Williams Stocks, 77, of Dalton passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

Judy, Mom, Nonne lived a life dedicated to those she loved: her family, her friends, her church, and her God. She was a faithful wife of 58 years, dedicated church member, deacon, prayer team leader, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Whether she was cooking a meal, writing a card, or climbing a tree with her grandkids, her love for everyone showed through.

You would find Judy up early every morning, with her cup of coffee, reading her Bible and praying faithfully for not only her family but others whose needs had been made known to her. Her deepest desire was to see those around her come to know the Jesus she spent so much time with every day. One of Judy’s favorite passages was from the 14 ^th Chapter of the Gospel of John: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (verses 1-3).

Judy was the daughter of the late Edwin and Edna Williams, and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Delores Buches and Gerald Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Stocks, Jr.; children, Stephanie Bennett (Sam) and Larry Stocks (Nicole); brother, Ken Williams; grandchildren, Emily Rye (Bill), Rachel Dillard (Derek), Samuel Bennett, Joseph Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Will Stocks, and Noah Stocks; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Adalyn, Barrett, Tripp, and Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Dalton with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Barlow, Rev. Phillip Cannon, Rev. Susan Deal, and Rev. Larry Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of service in the Atrium of the church.
