Kenneth Wade Ausmus, 89, of Dalton (formerly of Jacksonville, FL) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 13, 2022. A mechanical engineer, Kenneth retired from the City of Jacksonville. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Trula Ausmus, and sisters, Faye Ruth Ausmus and Wilma Ausmus.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Katherine “Tommie” Ausmus; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Ausmus (Dan) McEntire; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kelly McEntire (Scott) Shapiro; great-grandchildren, Madison Casner, Makenna Shapiro, and Parker Shapiro; brothers, Delbert Lee (Doris) Ausmus and Olin (Joyce) Ausmus; sister-in-law, Billie Earwood; and aunts, Theresa Batis and Retha Anderson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Kenneth Ausmus will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend James Brownlee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to further research into a cure for Parkinson’s Disease by contributing to Donation Processing, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P. O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
