Kenneth Jeffery Smith

Kenneth Jeffery Smith, 53, of Dalton and Atlanta passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home.

Jeff, “Smitty” to friends, was born on March 27, 1967 in Dalton, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his father and friend, Kenneth Benjamin Smith and his grandparents, Bradley and Lillian Dean and Howard and Lois Smith.

He is survived by his number one daughter, Julia Jade Smith, who he adored; his loving mother, Sandra Dean Smith; brother, Jason Smith; many nieces and a nephew who he all loved very much.

Jeff graduated from Dalton High School in 1985. He then attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Phi Delt Theta fraternity. He made lifelong friends there and graduated with a finance degree in 1989. He was an avid Georgia football fan and had season tickets and attended games every fall. He earned his master’s degree from Kennesaw State University. Jeff had a successful career in finance and transportation. He was an entrepreneur who enjoyed working for himself consulting for various businesses. He had an excellent work ethic that he learned from his father at a young age.

Jeff is remembered as a devoted and loving father. He enjoyed spinning his record albums, attending music concerts, and traveling with Jade and his friends. Everyone loved Smitty.

A private family service will be held.

A reception will be held Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 at Dalton Golf and Country Club.
