Krista Janine Smith Leonard

Krista “Janine” Smith Leonard born July 16, 1949, passed away on July 25, 2024.

She was a 1967 Dalton High School graduate with a gift for basketball, tennis, swimming and lifeguard.

She retired as an Assistant Vice President from Dalton Whitfield Bank, having worked in the banking industry for numerous local banks for over 40 years.

She was a collector of photos, memorabilia and life stories, holding memberships in several genealogical organizations. All of which delighted her passion for history and love of family.

Janine was quick of wit and humor. She always had a joke or story to tell. She had a gift of being genuine and for building lifelong friendships.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Smith and Millicent B. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Krista Leonard of Canton, GA and her faithful feline companion, Andy, as well as numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 until 11 AM.
