Lenore "Noey" Heard Higgins

August 14, 1951 — July 30, 2022

Our sweet little mama, Lenore “Noey” Heard Higgins passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2022.  Noey was born in Rockmart, GA on August 14,1951 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Shaefer Heard II. She was preceded in death by her husband Spence Higgins and her brother Roland Shaefer Heard III.

Noey is survived by her two daughters, Sally Higgins (Clint Thomas) of Dalton and Margaret Higgins Manis (Tyler) of Brunswick, grandchildren, Miller Spence Higgins of Dalton and Murphy Elizabeth Manis of Brunswick.  She is also survived by her youngest brother Charles Sidney Heard (Laura); brothers in law Lee Higgins (Allison) and Maynard Higgins (Vicki) sister-in-law Cathy Heard and numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends Midge McClean and Lucia Mauldin Eastham.

Noey was a lifelong resident of Georgia, graduating from Moultrie High School in 1968.  She attended Georgia Southern University for a time before beginning her career with General Telephone where she was soon promoted and moved to Dalton, GA.  She later switched careers and went to work for Shaw Carpet where she remained employed until her passing.

Noey will always be remembered as a kind, caring, sweet and thoughtful person.  Being the oldest of 3, she was like a mom to her younger brothers growing up.  She displayed a strong, tireless work ethic setting an example for her two daughters who have done the same.

Visitation for Noey will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at Love Funeral Home.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dalton State College C/O Spence Higgins, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

The Family would like to thank Community Hospice for the care given to Noey.
