Leslie Casten Bartenfeld

Leslie Casten Bartenfeld passed away at her home Friday, October 23, 2020 surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Leslie was born in Coral Gables, Florida on August 21, 1959 and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama attending the Altamont School.

Leslie was a proud graduate of the University of South Alabama (BS) and Auburn University with a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Gus G. Casten and Barbara Casten of Birmingham Alabama. She is survived by her adoring husband of 35 years, Michael Eugene Bartenfeld and her children, Michael Casten Bartenfeld and Emily Ann Bartenfeld. Also survived by Eugene and Patsy Bartenfeld, sister Diana Volz and brother Samuel Casten. She is also survived by her special friends: Sandy Simpson, Janice Rains, Dr. Peter Casten, Laney Raedisch, Louise Neff, LadyAnne Buchanan, and Ellen Ford.

Leslie brought joy to everyone she met through her kind, gentle and giving personality. She always gave more than she received, always thinking of others first. An accomplished gardener, she enjoyed working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers. She loved visiting the Gulf Coast. She was overjoyed by her children’s accomplishments. Her precious spirit will continue to live and sustain all of us that loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later time. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice Care for their kind and devoted services.
