Dec 27 th , 2020 Lowell D. Fritz, Sr reached out to the Hand of God and was led to his eternal home. He will be missed by his family and countless friends.
Lowell was a kind gentle soul with a huge heart. He was a friend to all who came in contact with him, as he never met a stranger. He considered the leader of his family to be the Lord Jesus Christ.
Lowell had a great love for the game of golf and was known as Old Pro. He worked as the golf pro at Dalton Golf and Country Club for 52 years. To Lowell it was never a job or career; he felt fortunate to spend his life doing something he loved. Lowell had a passion for Junior golf and led the yearly Junior Golf Clinic up until his retirement.
He was inducted into Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Class of 2013; which he considered a great honor.
Lowell was proceeded in death by his Father, Phillip Fritz; Mother, Mary Major; Sister, Sandy Hurst; Brother, Joe Fritz; Step-Brother Wade Allen.
Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of 56 years and a brother Benny.
Also surviving are two sons and spouses, Dean Jr (Jane) and Darrin (Suzy). He leaves 4 grandsons, Dean III, Tristan, Brandon, Noah and 3 Great Grandchildren Harrison, Avalyn, and Axel.
The family will hold a private service Sat Jan 2, 2021 and is planning a public celebration of his life later in the year.
