Justin Caylor

Luther Justin Caylor, 99, of Dalton passed away on February 23, 2023, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Lillie Pauline “Polly” Edwards Caylor, his son, Albert Caylor in 2016, and his parents, Luther Caylor and Mattie Stone Caylor. He was the last of their ten children to survive.

He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first in everything. He had a wonderful career in the carpet industry spending many nights at his drafting table inventing various machines. He loved fishing and baseball. Always loving living on the water, he and his wife retired to their beach house on Wilbur by the Sea and then later moved to their home on Lake Chickamauga.

Justin is survived by his eldest son, Paul Caylor, who allowed him to stay in his home until the end. Also surviving are his daughter, Vickie (Russell) Webster of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Zachary Helton of Tallahassee and Hunter Victoria (Marc) Capezzone of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Lila Helton, and Lars, Victoria, Nils, and Alba Lillie Capezzone.

A private service was held in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial followed in West Hill Cemetery.
