A cherished son, devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, loyal friend, and a beacon of light in our lives, Lydel embodied compassion, respect, and unwavering family bonds. His dedication to his parents, his wife Sandra Lunsford, his daughters Gabriela Broome and Marcia Salazar, and his son David Lunsford, grandchildren, Zion Broome, Nigel Broome, Adrian Salazar-Lunsford and Alejandra Salazar- Lunsford was a testament to his love and support. His presence nurtured growth and shared in the joys of their lives.
Lydel's warmth and camaraderie extended to his role as a cherished brother to Pamela Myers and (Adolfo), illustrating his ability to cultivate lasting connections.
Lydel's love for sports, including baseball, fishing, hunting and racing 4-wheelers, reflected his zest for life and his appreciation for the outdoors. His passion extended to coaching his beloved grandchildren's sports teams, a role that brought him immense pride and joy as he shared his wisdom and love for the game with the younger generation.
For 27 years, Lydel's commitment to his work at Shaw Plant 34 served as an inspiration to colleagues and friends, leaving an indelible mark on his professional community.
Visitation to honor Lydel W. Lunsford's life will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The service, officiated by Pastor Eddie Dobbs, will commence on the same day at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. Following the service, a burial will be held at Grove Level Community Cemetery, as we lay Lydel to rest in a place that reflects the natural beauty he cherished in life.
Though Lydel may have departed, his love, laughter, and impact endure in the hearts of all who knew him. As we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the legacy of the goodness he leaves behind.
