Mac Crow

Mac Crow, 81, of Dalton, passed away at Hamilton Medical Center on Friday, June 25, 2021. Mr. Crow was born on January 25, 1940, in Cornelia, GA to Ruth and Paul Crow, who predecease him. Mr. Crow is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Puckett Crow; children, Jennifer (Butch) Sanders and Jeffrey Mac (Sandy) Crow; five grandchildren, Lindsay (Cole) Bennett, Heather (Katharine) Cooper, Michael (Julianne) Cantrell, Sidney (Cody) Caldwell, and Anna Elisa Crow; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crow attended Georgia Tech, Piedmont College, and the University of Georgia. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School in 1964. He was with State Farm Insurance’s Claims Department for 38 years, serving as Claims Superintendent for the last 25 years.

Mr. Crow was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dalton. He volunteered with Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful, DOC-Up, and SCORE of Dalton. He was a member of both the Lion’s Club and the Rotary Club of Dalton. He received his Eagle Scout Award at the age of 12 in Cornelia, GA.

A memorial service for Mr. Crow will be held Sunday, July 18, at 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Brian Clark officiating. The family will receive friends in the Church Atrium from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hamilton Medical Center, Hamilton Hospice, Regency Park Healthcare, their Church family, and their many friends in our community for their many acts of kindness and compassion in the past many months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church (500 S. Thornton Avenue, Dalton, GA 30720) or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
