Margaret Cole Parsons

Margaret Cole Parsons, 74, of Jackson, TN, formerly of Dalton, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at West Tennessee Transitional Care in Jackson, TN. Margaret was born in Dalton, GA on June 22, 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Parsons, son, Marcus Alan Parsons, parents, Cecil and Annie Ruth Cole, and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Parsons is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Cassie Parsons of Jackson, TN; and grandchildren, Marcus Parsons, Luke Parsons, Kate Parsons, Ellen Parsons, and Calvin Parsons.  She is also survived by her sister, Betty Nix, and brother, Charles Cole, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family was the MOST important thing to her. She routinely kept up with all of life’s events for not only her son and grandchildren, but all her nieces, nephews, and cousins alike. She was so proud of her family and was especially proud to be a part of the Cole family.

What will be missed the most are the phone calls early in the morning to sing Happy Birthday when it was your day. She has always been the biggest fan of her son, Greg, and his family.  Her unwavering love and support, an open door to all, and providing a meal showed the world her heart.

Mrs. Parsons was also a long-time member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church in Dalton and faithfully loved her church family. Even after moving to be closer to her son, she continued to listen and worship online. She retired from the carpet and chemical industries, with most of her time spent in the customer service and accounts payables departments.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Love Funeral Home in Dalton with visitation to be held on Saturday July 29, 2023, from 5-8 pm. Funeral services to be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverends Bruce Beach and Randy Vaughn officiating. She will be buried at West Hill Cemetery next to her husband and son, Marcus. Flowers will be accepted, or donations made to the Missions Fund at Welcome Hill Baptist Church (2470 East Welcome Hill Circle, Dalton, GA 30721) in her memory.
