Mrs. Margaret Louise Roberts, age 99, of Rockmart, Georgia, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024, surrounded by her family, at Rockmart Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Saturday, September 6, 1924, to the late Mr. Andy Edward Gazaway and the late Mrs. Tommie Lee Carder Gazaway.
Mrs. Margaret loved to love people. Her love for people stemmed from her love for the Lord above everything. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord through her caring for others in every way. Her faithful service to the Lord helped to lead many people to know Him and further glorify His Kingdom. She was very active at her church, serving in many different capacities, from singing in the choir, singing solos and duets, to caring for the elements used in Holy Communion.
She most especially adored her family, as they were her pride and joy. She cherished all of her family equally, from her children and her grandchildren, to her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. In return, she was adored, cherished, and loved by everyone that knew her and was a part of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ether Paul Roberts, Jr.; her sisters, Ola Mae Gazaway, Sybil Gazaway, Melba Sloan, and Beatrice Padgett; her brothers, Bernard Gazaway, Leonard Gazaway, Jack Gazaway, and Robert Gazaway.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Paul Andrew Roberts, as well as one grandson.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Gloria Margaret Roberts; her three granddaughters, Paula Martin, Ladonna Mears, and Alyssa Austin (Andy). She is also survived by her two great-grandsons, Chris Ferguson and Anthony Hammonds (Daisy Beth) and her six great-granddaughters, Mandy Martin (Jason), Bree Gentry (Brandon), Leeah Wynn (Jacob), Karra Fennell (Dustin Howard), Kayley Davis (Bo), and Daisy Mears. She is also survived by her eleven great-great-grandchildren, Austin Martin, Carson Hughes, Gracie Kate Martin, Jax Woodall, Anniston Gentry, Sara Beth Hammonds, Atley Jo Woodall, C.J. Hammonds, Jett Wynn, Jonesy Davis, and Azlynn Gentry.
Mrs. Margaret is also survived by her sister-in-law and beloved friend, Wynette Gazaway.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret Louise Roberts will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at one o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Matthew Sloan and Dustin Smith officiating.
Mrs. Margaret will be laid to rest after the service at Cove Church Cemetery, alongside her late husband, her son, her grandson, her parents, and many of her siblings.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning up until the service hour.
The family has asked Chris Ferguson, Anthony Hammonds, Jason Martin, Austin Martin, Jacob Wynn, and Bo Davis to serve as pallbearers. Additionally, the family has also asked Randy Parker, Andy Austin, Brandon Gentry, Dustin Howard, Terry Gazaway, Reginald Gazaway, Phil Padgett, Heath Padgett, and Mark Sloan to serve as honorary pallbearers.
