Margaret Weaver Mathis, 96, of Dalton GA made the journey to her heavenly home on April 27, 2018. She was born locally on August 15, 1921 to the late Alfred Neeley and Lizzie Hood Weaver. She joins in heaven her precious husband of 62 years, Ernest Bradley Mathis, Sr. and her loving son, Anthony David Mathis. Also preceding Mrs. Mathis in death were her sisters Sue Kirby, Lela Denayer and brother-in-law John Denayer. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Nell Rodriguez, (Ted), daughter Annette Reffner (Robert) of Cleveland, TN, son Ernest Bradley Mathis, Jr. (Frances) of Dalton, GA, and daughter Sharon Bagley (Darrell) of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren, Kim Greene, Keith Reffner (Stephanie), all of Cleveland, TN, Robert Reffner, Jr. (Krissie) of Manchester, KY, Brian Mathis (Kathy) of Dalton, Barry Mathis (Angela) of Loudon, TN, Sara Smith (Kevin) of Clarksville, TN, Steven Bagley and Michael Bagley both of Chattanooga, TN and Brandon Mathis of Portland, OR and a honorary grandchild, Lanee Beaver of Dalton. Mrs. Mathis also leaves behind numerous loving great grand-children, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special niece, Teresa Hamrick and special nephew, James A. Kirby to cherish her memory.
The family offers their heartfelt appreciation to Kristy Black, Mrs. Mathis' daily caregiver and to Hamilton Hospice.
Services will be Monday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Deems officiating.
Burial will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 until 6 at Love Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church, 4004 Airport Rd. S.E. Dalton, GA.
