Mrs. Marolyn Dianne Cochran Brooks, age 73 of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Dianne was born July 26, 1949 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Milton Chester Cochran and Clara Bell Mulkey Cochran.
Dianne attended Valley Point High School and studied business at Dalton State College. She worked at Shaw Plant 80 for many years and retired to lovingly care for her aging mother and grandchildren. She later opened her beloved shop, Emma Rose Consignment of Rocky Face, where she met many lifelong friends.
Dianne will be remembered for her endless love and sacrifices to her mother, husband, two sons, grandkids, and great grandkids. She portrayed a kind and caring personality, always lending a listening ear and a beauty that shined inside and out. She found joy in flower gardening, yard selling, walking the beach, attending church and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lonnie Cochran, David Cochran; sisters, Evelyn Stanfield, Lula Davis, Willa Jean Jackson and Patsy Corn.
Dianne is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Olan Thomas Brooks; sons, Brian and Tiffany Brooks, and Kenneth Scott Godfrey; brother, Doug Cochran; grandchildren, Brooke and Richard Pacheco, Heather and Chas Bishop, Dylan and Sean Brooks, Breanna Brooks, Katelyn Godfrey, Jennie Brooks, Bryan Eades and Michelle Eades; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
The family has entrusted Love Funeral Home with the arrangements at 1402 North Thornton Avenue, Dalton, GA 30720. They will receive friends, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service to celebrate the life of Dianne will be held, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Ronny Smith and Reverend Billy Willis officiating. She will be laid to rest at Dunagan Cemetery following the service with Chas Bishop, Richard Pacheco, Bryan Eades, Dylan Brooks, Jimmy Bethune and Wayne Stanfield having the honor as serving as pallbearers.
