Mary Beth Shultz

October 22, 1961 — September 17, 2022

Mary Beth Shultz, 60, of Dalton, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irving Halvard and Nan Marjorie Dahlstrom.

Mary Beth was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 22, 1961. She grew up in Farmington, CT, attending East Farms Elementary School, Irving Robbins Junior High School, and Farmington High School. In school, she played the flute and oboe and sang in the school chorus and the Chamber Singers, as well as played softball and volleyball. She attended the University of Georgia where she continued to play volleyball and met her future husband, Albert Bryon Shultz. They were married on May 15, 1982. Albert and Mary Beth moved to Dalton in May, 1984, and Mary Beth continued her education at Dalton Junior College and then the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. After graduating she earned her CPA. Following a tenure in accounting in local industries, Mary Beth then was blessed to celebrate her calling as a mother spending time at home raising her children. In 2009, she joined the staff of Christian Heritage School, where she served as Chief Financial Officer. Mary Beth’s love for Christian Heritage was evident to all who knew her as she gave herself unreservedly to her calling to this school.

Mary Beth is survived by her husband of forty (40) years, Albert Byron Shultz; children, Anna Kirsten Shultz and Kaleb Albert Shultz; siblings, Pam Dahlstrom, Wendy Hines (Donn), Tim Dahlstrom (Terri), Marta Dahlstrom, and Jonathan Dahlstrom (Jill).
