Mary Blackwell Lankford

Mary Althea Blackwell Lankford, 84, of Dalton passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Regency Park Health Care Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn L. Lankford;  parents, William and Ethel Boyd Blackwell; daughter, Robin Maples; son, Anthony Lankford; brothers, William R. Blackwell, J. C. Blackwell, Edward Blackwell, and Sammy Blackwell; and sister, Susie Cooper.

Mrs. Lankford was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Dalton.

She is survived by her son, Christopher D. Maples; stepson, David Lankford; grandson, Ethan Blake Maples; sisters, Mildred Parker, Lela Stanley, and Doris Brown; brothers, Lamar (Gwen) Blackwell and Doyle Blackwell; and special friend, Pam Massingale. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lankford will be held in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Wayne Cofield officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 20, beginning at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one’s favorite charity.
