Michael Eugene Bartenfeld

December 10, 1959 — February 9, 2025

Michael Eugene Bartenfeld passed away at his home Sunday, February 9th, 2025 surrounded by his loving children. Michael was born in Dalton, Ga on December 10th, 1959 and was a graduate of Dalton High School in 1978 where he played trumpet in the marching band. He also graduated from the Southern College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology in 1988.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Leslie Bartenfeld, as well as his grandparents William Leonard Parker and Lois Parker, and Eugene and Louise Bartenfeld. He is survived by son and daughter Michael and Emily Bartenfeld as well as parents Eugene and Patsy Bartenfeld, sister Beth Martin, cousin William Garrett and various other important family members. He is also survived by special friends: Ken and Melanie Fullerton, Tim Watts, Steve Provenson, and Dr. Peter Casten.

Michael had a successful and meaningful career as a Land Surveyor and Civil Engineer and was also a dedicated husband and father assisting family in various activities including scouting, softball, gardening, and vacationing. Michael was also an avid historian and reader, possessing an extensive collection of historical artifacts and books. He was proud of his children and all their endeavors.

To honor his wishes, there will be no public service but the family would like to extend a special thank you to Pruitt Home Health Care and Hospice as well as Dr. Adam Nowlan and his team at the Hope Center in Cartersville, Ga for their support and guidance.
