Michael James Cook

Michael James Cook, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Michael was born on February 16, 1947, to Noel and Beulah Cook in Dalton, Georgia.

Michael was a devoted husband to Carole, his wife of 40 years, and a loving father to his three daughters, Alecia (Les) Halman, Monica (Josh) Rechnitz, and Carrie Chambers; his four grandchildren Kristen, Owen, Cameron, Caleb; and his great granddaughter, Christina. Michael is also survived by his dear sister, Rhenda (George) Spence and her children: Laura (Eric) Miller and Bill Spence.

Michael was a creative, adventurous, fun-loving husband, father, and friend with an entrepreneurial spirit. He had a passion for writing and playing music. He was a true man of God who enjoyed time with family and friends. He was known for his wicked sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday June 24, 2023, at Love Funeral Home. The family asks that all those who knew and loved Michael to light a candle in his memory. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to Angel Flight. https://www.angelflight.com/donate/
