Miriam Carol Highsmith

Miriam Carol Highsmith, 87, of Dalton passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Christian and attended Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood Highsmith; daughter, Valerie Hill; parents, Frank and Edith White; and sister, Gail Green. Mrs. Highsmith is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Michael) Dillard and Vanessa (Ronnie) Hill; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Robert) McClure and Carrie Clayton; great-grandchildren, Dillard Griffin, Benjamin Griffin, Kyle Griffin, Landen Talley, and Reagan McClure; and brothers and sisters, Bobby T. White, Pheliece Mahoney, Dixon (Bettie) White, and Daphne (Mike) Holdredge. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A private family memorial will be held. Flowers will be accepted, but those wishing to make a donation in Mrs. Highsmith’s memory are encouraged to make those donations to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree Street, NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.
