Opal Mae Joyce Thomas

August 8, 1925 — October 28, 2018

Mrs. Opal Joyce Thomas, 93, of Dalton passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ludie Tate White and was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles E. Joyce Sr. and Guy Thomas and brother, James P. White.

Opal was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Judy Joyce; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Woody Glenn; grandchildren, Mark and Jill Joyce, Shannon and Brett Ayers, and Chad Swift; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Luke Jenkins, Hannah Joyce, Tanner Ayers, Maddie Mae Ayers, Grace Swift, Asa Swift and Faith Swift; sisters-in-law, Barbara Combs and Phyllis White; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Willingham officiating.

Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 until 4.

The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 Veterans Dr. Dalton, GA 30721  or to Dalton First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Thornton Ave. Dalton, GA 30720.
