Mr. Paul Lake Crutchfield, 93, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Paul was born on July 10, 1925 in Shelbyville, TN to the late Thomas Morris and Mary Crutchfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcile Wesley Crutchfield and his sister and brother-in-law, Christyne and Malvin Townsend. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1943, upon graduation he entered the United States Navy and served during WWII as a radioman for two years. Paul owned and operated Crutchfield Furniture for over 65 years. He was a former member of the Crown Mill Baseball team and was very competitive in his church softball league. He was member of Dalton First United Methodist Church and was very active in the fellowship Sunday School Class.
Paul’s life revolved around his family, friends, employees and customers. He was an avid golfer and loved playing with his great-grandkids. He thoroughly enjoyed his weekly game of poker with his poker buddies and his daily breakfast with his buddies at Town Square Café.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Chris Bunch of Dalton; grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Cody and Jason (Stephanie) Bunch; special great grandchildren, Wesley Cody, Callie Cody, Cate Cody and Jackson Bunch; brother, Drennon Crutchfield and Mary Beth Smith of Dalton; special friend, Bonnie Molle; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Dalton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Willingham officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with American Legion Post 112 in charge of military rites.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 9 until the service at 11.
The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials made to First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Thornton Ave., Dalton, GA 3070 or to your favorite charity.
