Mrs. Minnie Pearl Wade Leonard, age 89, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday morning, August 13, 2024.
She was born in Ringgold, Georgia, on Thursday, April 25, 1935, to the late Mr. Colquitt and Mrs. Mossie Lowery Wade. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She shared her faith in God through her love and actions with everyone that she met. She served the Lord faithfully through her membership at Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including baking, sewing, quilting, and camping with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joe Leonard, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Myra Werrell and Lucy Gray, as well as her three brothers, Jack, Charlie and Robert Wade.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Phillip) Croy and JoAnn (Mike) Thomas, and her son, James (Robin) Leonard; her brother, John Wade, and her sister-in-law, Virginia Davis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zana (Justin) Cox and Amber (Miguel) Garcia. Pearl is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Aaron and Ezequiel Garcia, Paislee Cox, as well as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of James and Robin and of JoAnn and Mike. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Pearl Leonard will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Bailey and Chaplain Regina Wilhelm officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service in a private burial ceremony beside her husband in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Her family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, Pearl’s family humbly asks that donations be made to Amedisys Hospice Care of Dalton (1510 N Thornton Ave, Ste 200, Dalton, GA 30720).
Pearl’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude for the caring staff of Amedisys Hospice Care, especially Jennifer, Regina, and Zeidi, for the loving care that they showed Pearl in her final days. Additionally, Pearl’s family would also like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude for the staff of Dalton Square Assisted Living and Memory Care for the love and support they showed Pearl during the time that she was in their care.
